The head office of Rotterdam Wonen is located at Rusthoflaan 108A, 3034 XP in Rotterdam. Rotterdam Wonen can be reached in writing by post or e-mail: info@rotterdamwonen.nl. Rotterdam Wonen is responsible for processing within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation.
Collecting data
Rotterdam Wonen collects data from you in the following ways:
1 ) Directly from you: for example through your registration on our website or submitting documents.
2) Through a third party: as part of our tenant selection, we collect information from a third party; like Google.
Which personal data does Rotterdam Wonen process?
We process different data depending on how far you are in our rental process. As the rental process progresses, more data will be processed.
When registering on our website
When you register on our website, we collect data so that we can assess whether you meet the requirements of the landlord to rent a living space and so that we can assess whether a living space meets your needs or not. This way you can be sure that you have a chance when you come to view.
The data we collect is your contact details, data about your
income type and level, education, a possible guarantor and your housing requirements.
We may share this information with landlords of residential properties to which you respond in order to determine whether you meet the conditions. Furthermore, we do not share this information with anyone.
We keep this information until you log out of our website. You can unsubscribe by sending an email to info@rotterdamwonen.nl.
After viewing a living space
If you want to continue the rental process after viewing a living space, we ask you for the following documents so that we are sure that you meet the landlord's requirements.
We ask of you and the fellow residents:
– If working: employer's statement and payslips from the past 3 months;
– If self-employed: Chamber of Commerce extract, assets & debt balance, profit & loss account of the past year and the contact details of your accountant;
– If student: proof of enrollment in studies (overview DUO);
– Proof of other income;
– Landlord statement
– Bank statements from the past 3 months (with only income visible);
- Copy of identification;
– Copy bank card;
We ask of any guarantor:
- Employer's declaration;
– Pay slips from the past 3 months;
– If self-employed: Extract Chamber of Commerce, assets & debt balance, profit & loss account of the past year and contact details accountant;
– Bank statements from the past 3 months (with only income visible);
- Copy of identification;
– Copy bank card;
We request the following information from the tenant and other residents:
– Owner previous home via the Land Registry;
– Rent Assessment Committee rulings at the most recent address via the website of the Rental Assessment Committee;
– Verification of employer's statement (level of income, long-term contract, intention to extend, wage garnishment or loan) via telephone or written contact with the employer;
– Chamber of Commerce registration employer via the website of the Chamber of Commerce;
– Website employer;
– For the self-employed: Chamber of Commerce registration accountant via the website of the Chamber of Commerce and the website accountant; expected development of annual results via telephone or written contact with the accountant;
– Credit check via EDR Credit Services (When you wish to become a customer, we provide your data to Economic Data Resources BV (EDR). EDR will provide advice on your creditworthiness based on this data. EDR uses your data for investigation into your creditworthiness and contact details. We request the following information from the guarantor:

If the landlord does not accept the potential tenant, the data will be destroyed immediately. When the landlord decides to enter into a rental agreement, the details of the tenant, co-tenant(s) and the guarantor are kept. As a broker, we can be held liable by the landlord as a result of a professional error. By storing this data, we have means of evidence if we have to prove statements against a professional error in proceedings.
After approval from the landlord
After approval from the landlord, we help you arrange your utilities. We will then share your name, new address and contact details with our partner utility provider, Wise Connection, if you have given us your explicit consent. They will then arrange all your utilities free of charge, quickly and easily
Sharing personal data with third parties
Rotterdam Wonen does not sell your data to third parties and only provides it after your permission, if this is necessary to perform our services or to comply with a legal obligation.
We have agreements with companies that process your data on our behalf to ensure the security and confidentiality of your data. Rotterdam Wonen remains responsible for these processing operations.
View, change or delete your own data
You have the right to view, modify or delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to withdraw your consent to the data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by Rotterdam Wonen and you have the right to data portability. This means that you can submit a request to us to send you the personal data we hold about you in a file. You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, data transfer of your personal data or request for withdrawal of your consent or objection to the processing of your personal data to info@rotterdamwonen.nl. To ensure that the request for inspection has been made by you, we ask you to enclose a copy of your proof of identity with the request. This is to protect your privacy.
